Application requirements
I/O density, cycle time, motion or process requirements, field distances and maintenance needs are assessed together. This defines the requirements of the working system, not just individual products.
This packaging application uses XB6S modular remote I/O to address field control, reliable communication and maintainable commissioning.
I/O density, cycle time, motion or process requirements, field distances and maintenance needs are assessed together. This defines the requirements of the working system, not just individual products.
The proposed architecture combines XB6S modular remote I/O with the machine’s existing control infrastructure and communication protocols. Final product and module selection depends on site requirements.
ProControl can adapt the solution to local project requirements in Türkiye, from site assessment, I/O planning and protocol selection to panel layout, commissioning and after-sales support.
The technical workflow and visual information from the manufacturer are presented below.
The liquor production line covers multiple stages including raw material processing, fermentation, distillation, aging, and filling. The degree of automation and precision in the production process directly affects the quality of the liquor, production efficiency, and the company's economic benefits. Against the backdrop of today's fiercely competitive liquor market and increasingly refined production process requirements, remote I/O modules provide key technical support for the automation upgrade and precise control of liquor production lines, helping liquor enterprises achieve intelligent brewing.
Shidian Technology products used in this case include XB6S-PN2002 , XB6S-3200 , XB6S-0032B , XB6S-A80TM , etc.
Core process of the intelligent liquor production line: raw material feeding → fermentation temperature control → cellar environment monitoring → filling line coordination
[Raw material feeding]
After pretreatment, raw materials are conveyed to the fermentation tank via conveyor belt, and the feed inlet sensor triggers the system start signal.
[Fermentation temperature control]
The temperature inside the fermentation tank must be dynamically adjusted according to the process curve. If the temperature deviation exceeds the threshold, the automatic compensation mechanism is triggered.
[Cellar environment monitoring]
Parameters such as temperature, humidity, and oxygen concentration inside the cellar are collected in real time to ensure a stable microbial fermentation environment.
[Filling line coordination]
After aging is complete, the liquor is conveyed through pipelines into the filling line, where equipment such as filling valves, cappers, and labeling machines must operate in coordinated sequence.
The system uses PROFINET Protocol. Shidian Technology's Digital input module XB6S-3200 , Digital output module XB6S-0032B , and temperature acquisition control module XB6S-A80TM are connected to the Siemens PLC S7-1500 via Coupler XB6S-PN2002 , achieving efficient Data Exchange and coordinated operation.
XB6S-3200 collects field sensor signals, including digital input signals such as the operational state of the fermentation tank agitator motor, the open/close signals of filling line valves, and the detection of cellar access control switches, and provides real-time feedback on the triggered state of the feed inlet sensor to ensure precise start/stop control of the raw material conveying process; XB6S-0032B outputs control commands to actuators such as the fermentation tank agitator, filling line Solenoid valves, and cellar ventilation devices, and drives equipment such as the filling line bottle divider and capper according to PLC logic to operate in preset sequence, ensuring consistency of the production cycle; XB6S-A80TM monitors the temperature distribution across various zones of the fermentation tank in real time, and combined with PLC algorithms, dynamically adjusts the opening of the cooling water valve to achieve a temperature control Accuracy of ±0.5 °C, avoiding quality fluctuations caused by temperature drift in traditional solutions.
Due to the complexity of the liquor-making process, as production scale expands and process refinement requirements increase, the enterprise's traditional solution exposed significant shortcomings: coordinated operation across multiple processes led to a surge in demand for point expansion; in key aspects such as temperature control, compatibility between modules was insufficient and expansion flexibility was low; frequent Debug and high maintenance costs severely restricted production efficiency and process standardization. Shidian Technology's remote I/O XB6S series products allow a single station to expand to up to 32 I/O modules, supporting flexible configuration of Digital, Analog, and dedicated temperature control Function Modules, precisely matching multi-scenario requirements such as temperature and humidity monitoring in the fermentation workshop; the Slice design supports Plug and Play, greatly simplifying wiring and debugging processes and reducing on-site installation work. At the same time, the anti-interference design within the Modules effectively reduces the risk of signal interference and improves system stability.
After adopting Shidian Technology's remote I/O XB6S solution, its anti-interference capability and flexible expansion were highly recognized by the enterprise, which plans to continue applying it in the newly commissioned intelligent liquor-brewing workshop, hoping to achieve precise control of the brewing process and digital management of equipment operation and maintenance through technology upgrades, further consolidating and improving production efficiency.
Shidian Technology's remote I/O XB6S series products are compatible with various Bus protocols and feature Function Modules such as motion control and temperature acquisition; the products have passed rigorous EMC Test, offering superior anti-interference performance and eliminating disconnections; they support Diagnostics, alarm, and abnormal log recording, providing intelligent feedback and convenient Use.
